Content
This course follows-up the Enterprise Resource Planning course. A major critic to the classic ERP systems is their lack of planning support for many real problems. In response to this critic, software developers created Advanced Planning Systems (APS) which supplement classic ERP systems with sophisticated planning support. In this course the SAP SCM-APO serves as an example for modern APS. Strengths and weaknesses of the implemented methods are discussed.
The course will be based on a new interactive planning tool, featuring the "Frutado Case", a mid-sized german beverage producer. The interactive planning tool will cover
- A description of the Frutado Case
- The Module for Demand Planning
- The Module for mid-term Supply Netwrok Planning
- The Module for short-term Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling
- Distribution and Transport planning
- Available-to-promise/Capable-to-promise
- Links between the planning modules
Course objectives
- Concept and purpose of APS
- Insight into the structure of a specific APS, the SAP SCM-APO
- Understanding of Master Data, Transaction Data and planning methods
